Chapter 6:

Remote Control Software

The VeraSol system includes a remote software application to aid the user in setting custom
spectrums and to perform system functional tests. The software can be found on the USB
thumb drive provided with the unit. Setup executables on the thumb drive will update the USB
drivers to allow access to the instrument, and also load the VeraSol Control Panel application.

Installation

Step 1: Installation of the drivers requires administrator privileges on the computer. Make sure

that there are no other applications running, because it is likely the computer will have
to be re-started at some point. Make sure that the VeraSol is not yet connected to the
computer.

Step 2: Open the thumb drive on your computer. Run the “setup.exe” application and follow the

instructions on the screen. This will install VeraSol control, VeraSol Replicator, and all
required system drivers. When the installation process finishes, the computer will need
to be re-started.

Step 3: When the computer has re-booted, plug the VeraSol control unit into a USB port on the

computer.

Note: the computer may take several seconds to initiate the USB driver if the application has not
run previously. The “Connect” button in the application will not initiate a connection to the
VeraSol until the computer has loaded and run the driver.
