TROUBLESHOOTING
Depositing conditioned material in
bunches or piles when swathing.
Leaves damaged or stripped off
stems.
Leaving ragged or long stubble.

Improper swath gate adjustment.
Improper ground speed to reel
speed relationship.
Improper crop flow, cutter bar to
rolls.
Too much pressure on the rolls.
Reel speed too fast.
Ground speed too fast.
Dull or worn out knife sections.
Improper hold-down clip adjust-
ment.
Worn out or broken guards.
PTO speed too slow.
Reel speed too slow for the
ground speed.
Header flotation too light.
Sickle drive belts too loose.
Reel belt slipping excessively.
Raise swath gate one latch hole.
Run reel 10% faster than ground
speed. See Reel Speed Chart
(Section 2).
Adjust reel position.
Reduce pressure until leaves are
not damaged.
Decrease the reel speed. (Op-
tional 16-tooth reel driver sprocket
available.)
See Reel Speed Chart (Section
2).
Match ground-to-reel speeds.
Sharpen or replace knife sections.
Adjust or replace hold-down clips.
Replace worn out or broken
guards.
Maintain RPM on the tractor PTO.
Do not overspeed.
Increase reel speed so it is about
10% faster than ground speed.
Increase header weight to 32 kg
(70 lbs.) (smooth ground condi-
tions).
Adjust belts.
Adjust belt as detailed in “Reel
Drive Belt” (Section 4).
