INTRODUCTION
This instruction manual must be considered as a part of the machine. The suppliers of both new and old machines must prove through
documentations that the present manual has been delivered with the machine.
THE OPERATOR MUST READ THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL AND ALL ITS SECTIONS CAREFULLY, BEFORE PERFORMING
ANY KIND OF OPERATION ON THE MACHINE.

AIM OF THE MACHINE
The R70 bio-shredder is a hobby machine to shred in small pieces different kinds of vegetable waste up to a maximum diameter of 50
mm resulting from maintaining green areas.
The material to be shredded is introduced in the specific loading hopper and is shredded by a fixed blade of tempered steel and is
finally ejected 650 mm from the ground through a small discharge tube. In the hopper there is a strong suction which facilitates the
shredding of leaves and green material.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
During start up, use and maintenance of the machine, the following safety rules must be observed:

Under-sixteen years old are not allowed to use bio-shredders.
During the machine use, the user is responsible against third parties.
During the grinding, it is compulsory to wear gloves and protective spectacles; it has been proved that, with a constant use of the
machine, the sound level allowed is exceeded; it is highly recommended to wear an ear protector.
During the use of the machine, it is necessary to wear stout shoes and long trousers all the time.
Hair must be tied above the shoulders.
Do not use the machine, if you are tired, ill, or after having ingested alcoholic drinks, medicines or drugs.
Never start up the machine indoor. Exhaust gasses are lethal.

ACHINE SAFETY
During the ignition of the engine, make sure all the parts of the machine have been perfectly mounted in the correct way.
Before using the bio-shredder, replace broken or damaged parts.
Before leaving the bio-shredder, turn the engine off following the manual instructions.
It is compulsory to use the machine with all its safety devices mounted correctly.
Do not put any material into the bio-shredder before having turned on and brought to is maximum speed the engine.
Do not ever modify the machine.
Do not use the machine for functions others than those for which it has been conceived.

AFETY DURING GRINDING
During the use of the bio-shredder, the operator must wear individual protective devices, always stay close to the hopper where he
introduces the material to be grinded, and make sure that nobody is within a 20 meters radius.
It is forbidden to introduce branches whose dimensions exceed those prescribed (70 mm as indicated by the pictogram on the
hopper) .
Do not introduce in the bio-shredder stones, metal, glass, plastic, earth, packs of newspapers, ect. but only vegetable waste.
When the machine is working, do not ever remove any protective guard.
The operator must never be close to the discharge pipe of the material, while the machine is working.
Do not put any body part inside the protective guards.
When the motor is working, no body part must be close to the silencer.

AFETY WHEN USING FUEL
It is forbidden to smoke in the vicinity of the machine during refueling.
Turn the engine off before removing the cap of the tank.
Before refuelling, wait for the silencer to cool down (as it is placed next to the tank).
Remove any possible fuel leaks before starting up the engine.
Before turning the machine on, move it for at least 3 metres from the zone of refueling.

AFETY OF MAINTENANCE
For any maintenance activity of the machine, please refer to the procedures indicated in the section Maintenance.
Use original spare parts only.
While replacing the blades and cleaning the machine, be careful not to cut yourselves: “CUTTING TOOLS ARE DANGEROUS”.
Do not perform any kind of maintenance activity before having worn protective gloves and safety shoes, and having turned off the
engine: wait for the rotor to have completely stopped.

AFETY OF TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
Make sure all parts of the shredder are perfectly fixed to the machine, in order to avoid losing any objects during transport.
Transport the machine carefully and with the motor turned off.
Use the special hook to lift the machine (see Transport paragraph).
