CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
3. Chrominance block
The chrominance signal input from M1005 and another chrominance signal input of M1007 are selected at
IC1004 from IC1002, and the resultant signal is entered in IC5602 (AN5390; chrominance decoder).
(When 5BNC SELECT is set for COMPONENT at OSD, the Pr,Y,Pb input becomes available at Pins of RGB
inputs at M1007.)
An analog RGB signal is generated and output at the RGB matrix stage of IC5602 (AN5390; chrominance
decoder).
4. RGB changeover
The changeover operation is conducted at IC5606 to IC5617 among the RGB signals obtained from the decod-
ing of VIDEO, decoding of chrominance signals, and PC1/2 inputs. The output is amplified approximately twice
at IC5620 and is then output.
5. Sync changeover
In the VIDEO mode, the H/V sync signal output of IC5406 (TC74AC04F) passes through IC5802 (TC7W08FU;
SW), and is then controlled and selected through IC5810 (74HC4052; SW). This signal is entered in IC5803
(BA7078; Sync separation).
For the chrominance signal of HDTV at 480P and 720P, the Y signal passes through Q5801 to Q5803 and is
then controlled and selected through IC5810 (74HC4052; SW). This input is entered in IC5803 (BA7078; sync
separation).
In the case of the chrominance signal for NTSC or PAL, the Y signal passes through IC1013/IC5204 (TC7W66F;
SW) and also Q5217 to Q5220. It is then entered in Pin 17 of IC5404 (TA1222BN; VIDEO CHROMA). The H/V
sync signal processed for sync separation here passes through IC5406 (TC74AC04F; INVERTER) and also
IC5802 (TC7W08FU; SW). After passing through IC5810 (74HC4052; SW), this signal is controlled and se-
lected, and finally entered in IC5803 (BA7078; Sync separation).
During the entry of PC1 input, the H sync signal is processed for waveform shaping at Q1035 to Q1036, and is
then entered in IC5810 (74HC4052; SW). The V sync signal is processed for waveform shaping at Q1035 to
Q1036, and is similarly entered in IC5810 (74HC4052; SW). These H/V sync signals are controlled and selected
at IC5810 (74HC4052; SW) and entered in IC5803 (BA7078; Sync separation). The G signal passes through
IC5808/IC5809 (TC7W53F; SW) and is entered in IC5803 (BA7078; Sync separation).
During the entry of PC2 input, the H sync signal is processed for waveform shaping at Q1039 to Q1040, and is
then entered in IC5810 (74HC4052; SW) after the completion of control and selection with the H sync signal of
PC3 at IC5820 (TC7W66F; SW).
The V sync signal is processed for waveform shaping at IC1010 (UPC311G), and is further processed for
control and selection with the V sync signal of PC3 at IC5819 (TC7W66F; SW). It is then entered in IC5810
(74HC4052; SW). These H/V sync signals are controlled and selected at IC5810 (74HC4052; SW) and entered
in IC5803 (BA7078; Sync separation). The G signal passes through IC5808/IC5809 (TC7W53F; SW) and is
entered in IC5803 (BA7078; Sync separation).
In IC5803 (BA7078; Sync separation), an automatic judgment is performed to determine whether processing for
the sync separation signal is required or not. The output is generated after the polarity of sync signals has been
aligned.
In IC5803 (BA7078; Sync separation) also, information about the presence of sync signals and the result of
polarity discrimination is output to the microcomputer through IC5807 (M62320; I/O).
6. Plug & Play (PnP) function
IC1007 is a memory IC for Plug & Play. Through M1006, data are exchanged between the personal computer
and IC1007. SW1001 is a switch to determine whether writing in IC1004 is enabled or disabled. When this
switch is set at the “3” side, writing is enabled. Data writing is effected by connecting an appropriate jig to M1006
under the condition that writing is enabled. This switch is usually set at the “1” side.
