5. To install a 5.25-inch device in DEVICE1, use the latching rails (2) installed in the
Device Expansion Unit.

To install 5.25-inch devices in DEVICE2 - DEVICE4, remove the respective device
bay covers.
7. Install latching rails on the 5.25-inch device to be installed in the Device Expansion
Unit.
NOTE: Always use screws attached to the 5.25-inch
device. If no screws are attached to the device, the
screws removed in step 5 may be used. However,
before fixing the latching rail to the 5.25-inch device,
refer to the user’s guide that comes with the device to
check the specification of the screws.
8. Insert the device into the bay. Push the device until it clicks.
9. Connect the SAS interface and power cables within the Device Expansion Unit to
the 5.25-inch device. (For more information about connecting the interface and
power cables, please refer to the User’s Guide for each device.)
IMPORTANT: Be sure to use the screws attached to the
5.25-inch device. If screws are not attached, you may
use the screws removed in step 4. However, check the
specification of the screws according to the attached
User’s Guide before fixing the 5.25-inch device
