Upgrading Your Server 9-35
Installation
Install a file device in the following procedure:
1.
Provide the proper setting for the device.
See the table below for the settings of the devices which can be installed in the device bay.
Device
5.25-inch device
SCSI device
ID 0, termination resistance OFF*
IDE device
SLAVE
* If the terminator is not connected to the optional built-in SCSI cable, set the termination
resistance to ON.
2.
See the section "Preparing for Installation and Removal" described earlier to prepare.
3.
Remove the left side cover and front mask as described earlier in this chapter.
4.
Remove all the cables from the normally equipped CD-ROM and floppy disk drives and
the devices installed in the device bay.
5.
Remove the screws securing the hard disk bay.
6.
Pull out the file bay from the server with the release tabs on the both sides of the file bay
pushed.
7.
Place the file bay on a flat and rigid table carefully.
