3.2 Starting Up the System
After the installation, the system can be booted up with the following procedure.
Before system start up, all I/O installatiuon and update must be finished.
3.2.1 Power ON/OFF sequence
3.2.1.1 AC and DC12V ON

Check that the circuit breaker of the Power Distribution Unit (PDU) is ON.
(The PDU breaker should be kept ON during normal operation.)
2.
Turn on the main switch to the system power source.
3.
Turn on the switch on the Switch Panel.
4.
Check that the Power LED (green) for the CMM Blade is on.
5.
Check that the Power LED (green) for each CPU Blades is blinking slowly.
3.2.1.2 AC and DC12V OFF

Turn off the switch on the Switch Panel.
2.
Check that the CMM/CPU Blades Power LED is turned off.
3.
Turn off the main switch to the system power source.
Note: All CPU Blade 48V must be turned OFF before the AC and DC12V OFF.
3.2.1.3 DC48V ON
a)
From the CMM Web Console
Select the CPU Blade power control in the Chassis Control menu to power ON.
b)
From the Power Switch
Press the Power Switch on the CPU Blade.
3.2.1.4 DC48V OFF
a)
From the CMM Web Console
Select the CPU Blade power control in the Chassis Control menu to power OFF.
b)
From the Power Switch
From the EFI prompt or from the OS that is running (if the OS supports the power off switch), press the
Power Switch for the CPU Blade.
c)
From the Power Switch (for longer than 4 seconds.)
Pressing the Power Switch for longer than 4 seconds forces the CPU Blade to power off.
Note: By shutting down the OS, DC48V will be turned off automatically.
Note: DC48V will turn off after one minute of cooling.
Note: Powering off the last CPU Blade will turn off the PowerBay automatically.
Pressing the Power Switch for longer than 4 seconds may cause data loss.
