Chapter 2 Preparations
1.10.1
Installation
Install the TPM kit according to the following procedure:
1. Remove the top cover according to
Chapter 2 (1.3.1 Removal of top cover
2. Align the connector for TPM kit located on CPU blade with the connector on TPM kit side, and connect
them slowly and gently.
3. Mount TPM module to the CPU blade and secure it with a single screw.
Important
•
Do not touch the terminals of the card with your bare hand. Fingerprints and
dust left on it causes the CPU blade to malfunction.
•
Insert TPM kit perpendicularly into the connector. Inserting TPM kit with being
inclined may damage connector pins and/or connectors.
•
If you have trouble installing the TPM kit, remove the TPM kit once and try again.
If you apply excessive pressure on TPM kit, a TPM kit might be damaged.
4. Install the components you removed in earlier steps.
5. Install the CPU blade having been removed to the Blade Enclosure according to the User's Guide of the
Blade Enclosure.
6. Turn on the power of the CPU blade. Make sure that no error message appears in POST.

Removal
To remove the TPM kit, remove the top cover according to
Chapter 2 (1.3.1 Removal of top cover
), and then
perform steps 2 and 3 in
Chapter 2 (1.10.1 Installation
) in reverse order.
