Server Icon Grey or Not Shown Under LANDesk Console
Possible Causes
•
LANDesk not installed
•
LANDesk services or processes failed to start or were shut down
•
Server is not up
•
Server/Network reconfiguration
User Troubleshooting Procedure
•
Check IP Addresses in LANDesk Console, Configure > Communications > Addresses,
and/or Networks dialog box
•
From the console verify the server can be reached by using network ping command to the
server IP address. This verifies the network is up and server is running.
•
Telnet to the server and check services/processes are running for the LANDesk Server
component. See information in “Could Not Auto-discover Server Under LANDesk”.
Services Troubleshooting Procedure
•
Same as above
•
Check UNIX Server Manager log file for failed process related to NTS, PDS, NTCP, or
CBA.
Server Icon Displays - No Agents Expand
Possible Causes
•
Server agent has failed
•
LANDesk server services/processes are no longer running
User Troubleshooting Procedure
•
Refresh the server on the domain, then expand the server.
•
Verify LANDesk server agents are running. See information in “Could Not Auto-discover
Server Under LANDesk”.

Server Icon Does Not Show SMM Indicator
Possible Causes
•
Server Monitor Module hardware is not installed
