Select the plugin that you want to use for the test from the
Positioner Plugin
drop-down
menu.

Configure the following settings in the
Measurement Point Settings
section:
a)
Configure the
Point Rotation Parameters
to specify the points at which you want
to take measurements. Configure the settings to specify the grid information to
perform a sweep in both azimuth and elevation.
b)
Specify the
Speed
that the positioner sweeps positions during the test.
Configuring Antenna Plugins
1.
On the
Antenna
tab, verify the
Antenna Plugin Folder
lists the folder that contains the
antenna plugins. The default directory for the antenna plugin folder is located at
<NIDir>
\
<LabVIEW 20xx>
\user.lib\OTA Test\Plugins\Antennas\PPL
.
If the folder path changes, click the
Refresh
button to detect available antenna plugins.
Note
A valid antenna plugin must have a LabVIEW packed library and Initial
Configuration XML file. The LabVIEW packed library must contain the
Configure Parameters VI. Refer to the example at

<LabVIEW 20xx>
\user.lib\OTA Test\Plugins\antennas\PPL
\SimulationAntenna
.

Select the antenna plugin that you want to use for the test from the
Antenna Plugin
drop-
down menu.
3.
Configure the antenna beam index in the
Antenna Beam Settings
section.
Configuring Calibration Settings
Complete the following steps to enable calibration of the test.
1.
On the
Calibration
tab, enter the name of the port name in the
SGCalConfiguration
and
SACalConfiguration
sections. Use the same port names used for System Calibration.
2.
If the port name is empty, external gain is not set.
Executing Measurements in TestStand
Save the configured settings to the configuration file. You must save the configuration file
with the same file name and folder as the sequence file that corresponds to the Running Mode
of the test.
1.
Specify the path to the TestStand sequence file.
2.
Click
Start
to run the specified sequence file in TestStand.
The
Start
button launches TestStand and opens a new session in TestStand Sequence
Editor.
Visualizing Measurements
Use the mmWave OTA Validation Visualizer to complete offline analysis of your test data for
antenna measurements.
You can access the mmWave OTA Validation Visualizer from the
Visualization
tab in the
mmWave OTA Validation Configurator, or launch the application separately from
<NIDir>
\OTA Test\Visualizer
.
