INSTALLATION
A suitably qualified telephone technician will fit your DS6 Controller direct onto an
ANALOGUE extension of a PBX or other Multi-Line telephone system.
A NATCOMM Door Phone Intercom (see page 4) can then be connected to DS6 by
2 or wires (Note : only DP1 has 2 wire capability).
INSTALLATION DETAILS
1) Connect the PBX EXTENSION port of your DS6 direct to an ANALOGUE
TELEPHONE EXTENSION socket, using the supplied telephone cable.
2) Connect the supplied 12V power supply to your DS6,and switch the POWER
ON. Ensure that the green LED on your DS6 is illuminated.
3) Connect the SUPPLIED DOOR PHONE to the DOOR PHONE port of your DS6.
Run a solid core telephone cable (preferably CAT3 or CAT5) between the DS6 and
the Door Phone. Maximum working distance is 300 meters.
Our DP1 Door Phone requires only 2 wires of the CAT5 cable. Our DP2-DP5 Door
Phones require 4 wires of the CAT5 cable. Your LOCK (if used) will require 2 of
these wires.
For your convenience, an interface unit with screw terminals is supplied and should
be connected to the DS6 unit using the short RJ to RJ cable that is provided with it.
Use of the interface unit is not required unless you plan to use the internal relay for
Lock Control. If you are not using Lock Control, then you may prefer to connect the
CAT5 cable direct to the 8 pin RJ45 port of DS6. Pin connections are described on
page 12.
