Maintenance work
Before operating the tool, the following maintenance work must be carried out each time to ensure
the tool works properly. If damage is established during maintenance that cannot be put right on
site, the tool must no longer be used and must be sent for repair to the manufacturer.
Check the following each time before use:
Body of the heating clamp for damage
Mains plug and lead for damage
Heating plates for residues (if necessary remove these)
Splicing guide for residues (if necessary remove these)
Thermostat
Before pressing, always check temperature by inserting thermometer into bore. Set thermostat
to correct temperature for given type of belt (see splicing instructions).
Check every twelve months:
According to the VDE guideline 0701/0702 electrical tools must be checked once every twelve
months on site or according to local regulations in each country.
