Preset Programs - Biphasic Current
Programs 7-10 are biphasic rectangular pulses with different pulse widths and frequencies.
PRG 7:
This program contains so called LIB-current (according to Mokrusch). LIB means „long im-
pulse bidirectional“. These are quite long-lasting pulses of 40 ms length (positive and negative
component) that are delivered with a frequency of 10 Hz for 10 seconds. After a pause of 70
seconds the second of six treatment-phases starts. Due to the large muscular effort this program
should not be used more often than twice a day.
PRG 8:
PRG 8 uses biphasic current, which has a pulse length of 1 ms (positive and negative
component) and a frequency of 50 Hz. The duration of these pulses is still longer than it is nor-
mally used for muscle stimulation of healthy muscles.
PRG 9:
The pulse width used here is even shorter than in PRG 08, and the values are only slightly above
the pulse width that is normally used for stimulation of non-denervated muscles .
