Inspecting the crankcase halves

•

Check that the mating faces are not

damaged, dented or scored. Remove

any liquid gasket residues with thry-

chlorethylene.

•

Check that the threads of the stud bolts

are not dented or stripped; if they are,

replace the stud bolt or stud bolts.

•

Blow all oil galleries of the two crank-

case halves with compressed air.
