markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con

-

nected to the terminal in the plug which is  marked
with the letter N or coloured black.

2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con -

nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.

3

Applications

In combination with the hand-held transmitter IN-64TH
or the pocket transmitter IN-64TB from JTS, the diver-
sity

*

receiver IN-64R will create a wireless audio trans-

mission system for musicians that is ideally suited for
stage applications.

The system operates in the UHF range of 790 MHz

to 814 MHz. In the four channel groups, 64 preset
transmission channels will be available. The frequency
adjustment of the system is particularly straightfor-
ward: Via a radio signal, the receiver will set the trans-
mitter to the same group and to the same channel
(REMOSET function).

* Diversity technique:

The transmitting signal is received by

two antennas and then checked for its quality. An electronic
system will switch noiselessly to the antenna with the high-
est signal quality.

3.1 Conformity and approval

Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL declare that
the unit IN-64R is in accordance with the basic require-
ments and the other relevant regulations of the direc-
tive 1995/

5/

EC. The declaration of conformity can

be found in the Internet via the JTS home page
(www.jts-germany.de). The unit is

licence-free

and

generally approved for operation in EU and EFTA
countries.

4

Rack Installation

For installing the receiver into a rack (482 mm/ 19"),
the bracket DR-900SET (order No. 24.4770) which is
able to accommodate two receivers IN-64R is avail-
able as an accessory from JTS. The bracket requires
a height of 1 RS (1 rack space = 44.5 mm) in the rack.

5

Connection

The audio signal of the receiver will be present at the
balanced outputs AF OUTPUT: either connect the XLR
output (10) or the 6.3 mm jack (11) to a microphone
input of the following unit (mixer or amplifier). It will be
possible to attenuate the signal level of the XLR output
by 20 dB via the toggle switch OUTPUT LEVEL (9), if
required.

Connect the low voltage plug of the power supply

unit provided to the jack (13) for power supply
(12 – 18 V

600 mA). To prevent accidental discon-

nection of the plug from the jack, lead the cable around
the hook (12) for strain relief. Connect the mains plug
of the power supply unit to a socket (230 V~/ 50 Hz).

6

Operation

1) Place the receiving antennas (1) in a vertical posi-

tion.

2) Set the power switch (8) to ON. When the unit is

switched on, the ring around the button REMOSET
(3) will light up and, after shortly indicating the iden-
tification number (

chapter 6.1.2), the display (4)

will indicate the number of the channel adjusted (e)
and the letter of the corresponding channel group
(c). As long as the unit does not receive any radio
signal from the transmitter, it will be muted [inser-
tion MUTE (d)].

3) As it may be possible that some frequencies are

already being used by other wireless systems at
the place of operation, leave the transmitter (hand-
held transmitter IN-64TH or pocket transmitter
IN-64TB) switched off for the time being; set the
receiver to the desired transmission frequency first

chapter 6.1.1. If the reception bar graph RF (h)

shows a radio signal (one or more segments of the
bar graph will be displayed) when the transmission
frequency has been adjusted and the transmitter
has been switched off, another frequency should
be selected.

4) Switch on the transmitter and set it to the same

transmission frequency via the REMOSET function

chapter 6.2.

When the transmitter and the receiver are set to

the same frequency, the muting will be deactivated
[indication MUTE (d) will disappear]. One of the
indications A or B (a) will appear to indicate which of
the two antennas receives the more powerful radio
signal. The bar graph RF (h) will show the reception
quality: the more segments of the bar graph are dis-
played, the better the reception.

If the reception is too poor, check

if the batteries of the transmitter are exhausted.
If the batteries of the transmitter are exhausted,
the symbol “battery exhausted” (b) will keep
flashing on the display of the receiver.

If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful to
the environment.
