Telephone Record/Announce Adaptor- Amplified

REC/ANN-ADPT-A

User Guide

1 Introduction

The Trillium Telephone Recording Adaptor provides a connection from your
telephone to your Computer or Tape Reorder for recording your telephone
conversations and/or playing pre-recorded messages to the telephone line. It can
be used with most telephones fitted with a modular handset cord. A level control
is provided, to adjust recording level of your own voice without affecting the level
of signal sent to the telephone line. This allows the record level of both ends of the
conversation to be balanced.

2 Installing your Telephone Recording Adaptor

The drawing below shows a typical installation.

socket of your computer sound card or tape recorder.

computer sound card (only required if you wish to play pre-recorded
announcements to line).

7.

Lift the telephone handset and select handset selector switch position, which
operates the green light adjacent to the selector switch..

Your Telephone Recording Adaptor is now ready to use.

Adjusting the Record Level of your own voice

With the Transmit Level Control set to the minimum level (fully anti-clockwise)
the recording will contain the caller’s voice and your transmitted voice as heard in
the receiver of your telephone. With some telephones and telephone systems the
level of your transmitted voice heard in the receiver (referred to as side-tone) may
be significantly lower than the caller’s voice.

To select the appropriate transmit record level:

1.

Call a friend or information service and record a brief conversation.

2.

Play back the conversation

3.

If the level of your voice is too low, gradually turn the Transmit Level Control

clockwise and repeat steps 1-3 until you obtain the desired transmit level.
