3.5 Automatic Input Calibration
The ASD-211i/2D can perform automatic input calibration reassuring properly
quantized 4:2:2 output signals. This is accomplished by monitoring the pixel value
within the region of the white bar of a color bars input signal. For a 100% color bars
input, the pixel value of white must be 940. If the ASD-211i/2D reads a value other
than 940, it will amplify or attenuate the input signal accordingly. It will repeat this
procedure until 940 is read. To perform input calibration follow these steps:
1. Install a 75% or 100% color bars signal to
NTSC/PAL IN
.
2. From the main menu, press SELECT three times to enter the CALIB menu.
During this time, the CALIB LED flashes.
3. Press UP(+) or DOWN(-) to begin calibration. The INPUT CALIB LED flashes
quickly as the ASD-211i/2D performs input calibration.
4. If the calibration is successful, the ASD-211i/2D automatically enters the SETUP
menu. To return to the main menu, press SELECT until there is no more flashing
LED. If the ASD-211i/2D failed to properly calibrate the input, the flashing rate
returns to normal and the menu remains in CALIB. Verify your installation and
make sure there is 75 ohm termination on the
NTSC/PAL IN
loop-through output.
Repeat step 3.
NOTE: The luminance and chrominance gains are reset to a gain of 1 after a
calibration execution. Also, the horizontal phase (position) is centered.
