3.4 Decoding Filter
The ASD-211i/2D provides several types of decoding filters, as shown in figures
below. The selection of the filter will depend highly on the nature of the input
composite video. Generally, optimal decoding is obtained with 3-line or 2-line filters.
For key and monochrome inputs, select 2-line and B&W filters respectively. The
simplest way to choose a decoding filter is to pass through each one and compare
their performances with the intended source.

To select a decoding filter follow these steps:
1. From the main menu, press SELECT twice to enable the DECODING menu.
2. Use the UP(+) or DOWN(-) push-button to select the desired decoder. Figures
3.3 and 3.4 describe the decoder selection sequence for the NTSC and PAL-
B,G,H,I,M,N formats respectively.
3. Press SELECT to store the selected decoder for the current format.
4. To return to the main menu, press SELECT until there is no more flashing LED.
NOTE:
-The processing delay of the 3-LINE decoder (Adaptive and Non-Adaptive) is
one video-line longer than all other decoders.
-Notch and Bandsplit decoding are available via ICP-S only.
