2.4 ASD-211i/2D Electrical Installation
When connecting the ASD-211i/2D to external equipment, make sure that all serial
digital connections are point-to-point. For instance, there must be a point-to-point
connection between a
4:2:2 OUT
BNC and target equipment. If a T-connector is
used to connect other equipment, the maximum specified cable length is no longer
valid. Make sure the output cables have maximum lengths of 250 m (850') each.
Refer to Figure 2.2 and to the following description for a complete ASD-211i/2D
electrical installation.
NTSC/PAL IN - composite video input with passive loop-through
Connect a NTSC-M, PAL-B,G,H,I, PAL-M, or PAL-N composite video source to
NTSC/PAL
IN
. NTSC-M signals must conform to the SMPTE 170M standard and
PAL-B/G/H/I (625/50), PAL-M (525/60), and PAL-N (625/50) signals must conform
to the ITU (CCIR) 624-4 standard. If the loop-through output is not used, terminate
it with a 75 ohm termination.
4:2:2 OUT 1, 2, 3 and 4 - serial digital video outputs
The ASD-211i/2D provides 4 video output BNCs. These BNCs, labeled
4:2:2 OUT
1
,
2
,
3
and
4
, provide the adaptive decoded video signal. All outputs conform to the
SMPTE 259M-C standard.
