Rupture Disk
Each cell bank of the RIO-S OSG is equipped with a designated rupture disk. The rupture
disk is designed to prevent excessive pressure build up inside the cell. If the cell pressure
exceeds 25 PSI, a diaphragm inside of the rupture disk union bursts. Flow is routed
towards leak detector sensing band, which will trigger Leak Detect Fault. The Leak Detect
causes the system to shut down immediately. On the HMI, “Leak Detect – Bank X” is
displayed. In the event of a Leak Detect Fault, the moisture detected on the sensing band
could be the result of the rupture disk bursting or a leak from within the cell bank. Always
check the condition of the rupture disk inside the union housing to verify it has not blown.
If not, then the water detected is from a cell or plumbing leak. See Leak Detection for more
details.

Replacing the Rupture Disk Diaphragm
1.
Put the system in STOP by pressing the START/STOP button on HMI.
2.
Open both inlet and oxidant drain valves to drain the bank associated with the leak.
3.
Remover the oxidant side panel associated with the leak.
