Accessories and options from Minebea Intec are designed for optimum compatibility with
the device. Therefore, do not use your own solutions. Modiication of the device and
connection of foreign cables or devices is the responsibility of the operator and must be
tested by them accordingly. Information and data on the operating quality (in accordance
with the standards for interference resistance) can be provided on request.

2.4.3 Opening the device
Before connecting or disconnecting additional devices from the data outputs, the must
irst be disconnected from the mains.
The may only be opened by trained technicians according to Minebea Intec speciications.
2.4.4 Protective ground connection
The protective ground conductor must never be disconnected. Only use standardized
extension cables with protective ground conductors.
2.4.5 IP protection
Protection grade of the housing:
- All models fulill protection grade IP44 (IP65 as accessory).
- Models CAWxS fulill protection grade IP67.
- Model CAS1E*: Platform IP65, display unit IP69K.
- Model CAS1G*: Platform IP67, display unit IP69K.
- Models CAS1E-64ED-H: Platform IP44
- With the option "I69", the models CAWxS fulill protection grade IP69K.
- The installation of the complete scales with fastened plugs must be carried out and
checked by a specialist.
- If a data output or battery connection is subsequently installed, keep the plugs. Use a
cap or similar to protect the data output from vapor, moisture, and dirt.
2.4.6 Use in legal metrology
- If the indicator is connected to a weighing platform and the resulting scale is
submitted for conformity assessment, the associated regulations must be complied
with.
- When connecting Minebea Intec weighing platforms, observe the Declaration of
Conformity which lists the approved weighing ranges.
- Veriied devices are secured with an adhesive seal showing the company name
"Minebea Intec". Attempting to remove the adhesive seal will destroy it. This
invalidates the veriication validity. In this case, veriication is required in compliance
with national laws and regulations.
2.5 Failure and excessive stress
If the device or the power cord display visible damage: Disconnect the power supply and
secure the device to prevent it being used further.
Do not unnecessarily subject the device to extreme temperatures, corrosive chemical
vapors, moisture, shocks, and vibrations.
