Problem
Possible cause and remedy
The fan can still be
heard after the
appliance has been
switched off.
The appliance is fitted with a fan which removes steam
from the oven. The fan will continue to run for a while after
the appliance has been switched off. It will switch itself off
automatically after a while.
A humming noise
can be heard after
switching the
appliance on, during
use and after
switching it off.
This is the noise of the pump drawing water into the
system and draining it away. It is quite normal and does
not indicate any fault with the appliance.
After moving house
the appliance no
longer switches from
the heating-up
phase to the cooking
phase.
The boiling temperature of the water has changed as the
altitude of the new location for the appliance differs from
the old one by at least 300 m.
^
To adjust the boiling temperature, descale the appliance
(see "Cleaning and care - Descale").
During operation an
unusually large
amount of steam
escapes, or steam
escapes from parts
of the oven where it
does not usually.
The door is not properly closed.
^
Close the door.
The door seal is not correctly fitted.
^
Press it in all the way round the door to make sure it is
fitted evenly.
The door seal is damaged, e.g. cracks can be seen.
^
Replace the door seal.
A whistling sound is
heard when the
appliance is
switched on again.
When the door is closed, the pressure has to equalise,
which can cause a whistling sound. This is not a fault.
