Symbologies

Full ASCII Set (Code 39)

Usage:

Must be enabled when reading characters outside the standard character
set (0-9, A-Z, etc.)

User must know in advance whether or not to use

Full ASCII Set

option.

Since

Full ASCII Set

requires two code words to encode one character, it is

less efficient.

Definition:

Standard Code 39

encodes 43 characters; zero through nine, capital “

through capital “

”, minus symbol, plus symbol, forward slash, space, decimal

point, dollar sign and percent symbol. When

Full ASCII Set

is enabled, the

reader can read the full ASCII character set, from 0 to 255.
