ASCII Communication with Sensor
A 3.1 General
The ASCII commands can be sent to the sensor via the RS422 interface. All commands, inputs and error
messages are effected in English.
One command always consists of a command name and zero or several parameters, which are separated by
blanks and are completed with LF. If blanks are used in parameters, the parameter must be set in quotation
marks.
Example: Switch on the output via RS422
OUTPUT RS422
Advice:
must include LF, but may also be CR LF.
Declaration: LF
Line feed (line feed, hex 0A)
CR Carriage return (carriage return, hex 0D)
Enter (depending on the system System hex 0A or hex 0D0A)
The currently set parameter value is returned, if a command is activated without parameters.
The input formats are:
<Command name> <Parameter1> [<Parameter2> […]]
<Command name> <Parameter1> <Parameter2> ... <Parameter...>
or a combination thereof.
Parameters in []-brackets are optional and require the input of the parameter standing in front. Sequent pa-
rameters without []-brackets are to input compulsory, that is, it must not be omitted a parameter.
Alternative inputs of parameter values are displayed separately by „|“, for example the values „a“, „b“ or „c“
can be set for “a|b|c“. Parameter values in <> brackets are selectable from a value range.
