Collector
The collector (5) is also to be checked for damag-
es.

Note:
The slight grinding marks (6) caused by the car-
bon brushes correspond to their normal wear
and have no influence on the performance of
the motor. In case deep grooves as well as single
broken out parts or very burnt segments occur
the motor is to be replaced.
Inspection of the collector
– Remove one carbon brush for inspection [7].

Note:
With a special torch (with endoscopic tube) [8]
you can additionally light out the friction sur-
face of the collector through the carbon brush
shaft !

Attention:
If the motor has to be taken apart, it is essential
that you mark the alignment of mandril (a) and
motor bearing assembly (b) with a permanent
line (c) across both parts (a)+(b), in order to war-
rant the correct placement during assembly.
