5.7.4.1 LAN Port Alarms
The following alarms may be indicated for a LAN port:
LKDN
Link Down. A port will enter the link down state if it is not connected,
no cable plugged in, or the remote unit is not powered up; or if auto
negotiation has not or cannot complete.
LLF
Link Loss Forwarding. A port will enter the LLF state only if link loss
forwarding is enabled for the port, and the source port has entered
the alarmed state.
OAM
Link OAM Alarm. If OAM is enabled and responses from the peer
device are not received for 3.5seconds the port will declare an OAM
alarm. Once the OAM frames are received again, the alarm will be
cleared. An OAM alarm will be caused by faulty cabling, or by the
peer device not supporting OAM.
CFM
CFM OAM Alarm. In units which offer continuity and fault
management, a CFM alarm indicates loss of continuity messages
with the peer device.
5.7.4.2 SFP Port Alarms
The following alarms may be indicated for an SFP port:
LOS
Loss of Signal. The LOS alarm indicates an optical signal cannot be
detected. LOS is typically caused due to the fibre not being
connected, or the remote unit not powered up. Other causes include
a mix of multi mode/single mode fibres, incorrect wavelengths etc.
LKDN
Link Down. A port will enter the link down state if it is not connected,
no cable plugged in, or the remote unit is not powered up; or if auto
negotiation has not or cannot complete.
NF
Not Fitted. This alarm is generated when the SFP port is in the
administrative UP state, but no SFP is actually fitted.
LLF
Link Loss Forwarding. A port will enter the LLF state only if link loss
forwarding is enabled for the port, and the source port has entered
the alarmed state.
FEFI
Far End Fault Indication. In 100BaseFX mode a FEFI alarm
indicates that the far end unit is in the LOS/LKDN state.
