5.9.2.1 State
The state indicates the state of the BERT generator. The options are:
Disabled
WAN payload contains normal user traffic
Enabled
WAN payload contains a BERT test pattern.
Note,
Ensure the Test Pattern State is enabled before requesting loops from the carrier
otherwise loops may be applied to live LAN traffic. Also, ensure the loops have been
removed before the bert is disabled.
5.9.2.2 Pattern
The BERT tester can generate several different test patterns. By default the 2^15 pattern
is selected. The available patterns are as below:
2^15-1 (O.151)
2^20-1 (O.151)
2^23-1 (O.151)
2^9-1 (O.153)
2^11-1 (O.153)
2^20-1 (O.153)

5.9.2.3 Polarity
The polarity of the test pattern may be inverted or sent normally. According to the O.151
testing standard, the 2^15 and 2^23 should be sent inverted, all the others are sent
normally.
