5.7. Operating under specific climatic conditions
NOTICE

5.7.1. Lubricant oil
Select the viscosity (SAE grade) according to the ambient temperature at the installation site. Please
refer to the operating instructions of the engine manufacturer..
5.7.2. Battery
When the generator is out of use for a long time at temperatures below -15 °C, the battery must be
removed and stored in a frost-free location.
5.7.3. High ambient temperature, high altitude
With increased altitude or rising ambient temperature the air density increases. Thus, the maximum
power of the motor, the exhaust gas quality, the temperature level and, in extreme cases, the start-up
behaviour are affected. With use under adverse conditions (higher altitude or higher temperature), a
reduction in the injection fuel quantity and therefore motor power is necessary.

5.8. Installing and removing the battery
I CAUTION
BATTErY ACID
Danger of chemical burn of body parts.
• Avoid contact with battery acid.
• Use protective gloves, goggles and acid-resistant clothing.
• Keep the battery clean.
Rinse injured area with clean water.
First aid according to code of practice, notify first responders.
NOTICE
Keep the battery away from sparks and open flame!
Do not set tools down on the battery!
Observe polarity.
The positive cable (+) is red, the negative cable (-) is black.
First connect the positive cable and then connect the negative cable!
