Vehicles with petrol engines: only use engine
oils of the SAE 0W-20 viscosity classes.
Diesel engines MB-Freigabe or MB-
Approval
All models 229.52, 229.61

* recommended for lowest possible fuel con‐
sumption (lowest SAE viscosity class in each
case; observe possible restrictions of the
approved SAE viscosity classes)
To achieve the lowest possible fuel consumption,
it is recommended to use the engine oil specifi‐
cations marked in the table for the lowest SAE
viscosity class. Possible restrictions of the
approved SAE viscosity classes must be
observed.
% If the engine oils listed in the table are not
available, you may add a maximum of
1.0 litre of the following engine oils once
only.
Engine oils for one-time filling only in exceptional
cases:

or MB-Approval 229.31 or ACEA C3

Vehicles with a diesel engine: MB-Freigabe
or MB-Approval 229.51 or ACEA C3

WARNING Risk of an accident due to
vapour pockets forming in the brake sys‐
tem
The brake fluid constantly absorbs moisture
from the air. This lowers the boiling point of
the brake fluid. If the boiling point is too low,
vapour pockets may form in the brake sys‐
tem when the brakes are applied hard.
This impairs the braking effect.

Have the brake fluid renewed at the
specified intervals.
Have the brake fluid regularly replaced at a
qualified specialist workshop.
Only use a brake fluid approved by Mercedes-
Benz according to MB-Freigabe or MB-Approval
331.0.
