WARNING Risk of burns from the tail‐
pipe and tailpipe trims
The exhaust tailpipe and tailpipe trims can
become very hot. If you come into contact
with these parts of the vehicle, you could
burn yourself.

Always be particularly careful around
the tailpipe and the tailpipe trims and
supervise children especially closely in
this area.
#
Allow vehicle parts to cool down before
touching them.
The driving characteristics of your vehicle are
dependent on the distribution of the load within
the vehicle. You should bear the following in
mind when loading the vehicle:

never exceed the permissible gross mass or
the permissible axle loads for the vehicle
(including occupants).

The load must not protrude above the upper
edge of the seat backrests.
R
When transporting objects in the load com‐
partment, always install the load compart‐
ment cover and partitioning net.
R
Always place the load behind unoccupied
seats if possible.
R
Secure the load using the tie-down eyes and
distribute the load evenly.
Notes on driving with a roof load
R
Evenly distribute the roof load, and place
heavy objects at the bottom. Also comply
with the notes on loading the vehicle

page 110).

Drive attentively, and avoid suddenly pulling
away, braking and steering as well as rapid
cornering.

When transporting roof loads and when the
vehicle is fully loaded or fully occupied,
select drive programs
