4. safety information
4.1 general information
caution! Please read all safety information and
instructions!
• Store the operating manual in a safe place.
• Only utilize the device for its intended use. Any
work performed with the device, for which it was
not designed, may result in damage to assets and
injury to personnel.
• Non-compliance with the instructions and other
information or compliance errors may result in
electrocution, fire and/or severe injuries.
• This device must not be operated by persons
with physical/mental disabilities or physical
perception impairments or which are not familiar
with the use and handling of this device type.
Children are not permitted to operate this device!
• The use of this device by adolescents within
the scope of professional technical training is
permitted. The stipulations set out in the Youth
Work Protection Act (JArbSchG) apply.
• Store the device outside the reach of children.
• Children must maintain a safe distance while the
electrical power tool is in use.
• Do not permit an operation of the device by any
person who has not read the operating manual.
• Defective devices must only be repaired by a
MENZER Service workshop.
• Remain vigilant at all times and do not allow a
false sense of security to set in. Do not bypass any
of the safety guidelines for electrical power tools,
even if you feel you have mastered its operation
after many hours of practical use.
• Be attentive, concentrate on your work and use
common sense in all tasks involving an electrical
power tool. Do not operate a power tool when
you are fatigued or are under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or prescription medication.
4.2 Machine-specific safety information
• The device must only be connected to mains
sockets with a voltage and frequency that matches
the information provided on the type plate of the
machine.
• Make sure that all operating components are
functional before starting work.
• Never operate the device if there is any visible
damage on the cable, housing parts or other
device components.
• Maintain electric power tools and attachment
tools with care. Ensure that all moving parts
function correctly and do not grate or show breaks
or any other damage, which could negatively
impact the function of the electric power tool. Any
damaged parts must be repaired by a MENZER
Service workshop before use of the electric power
tool.
• Ensure that the machine cannot be accidentally
activated before connecting the tool to an electric
mains outlet to avoid accidents.
• Turn the main switch to the 0 position and
disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket
if the machine switches off inadvertently.
Please read chapter 7 on error handling and
troubleshooting and/or contact MENZER Service.
• Always hold the device with both hands to
ensure that you have the tool fully under control
and damage is avoided.
• Remove all tools from the immediate vicinity of
the power tool before activation (e.g. wrenches).
• Run the device for around 1 minute – with the
backing pad facing away from your body before
commencing work.
• Only hold the device on the insulated grip areas
to prevent any danger of electrocution, should the
device damage hidden electric cables or its own
power cable.
2. intended use

conditions set out in EN60745 with new, unused
electrical power tool. Values will change with
regular use, signs of wear and differing substrates,
abrasives, environmental conditions and
insufficient maintenance.
The stated values were determined under
laboratory conditions and are insufficient for a risk
assessment.
The actual, applicable values at the relevant work
site and under relevant work conditions depend
on environmental conditions, work practices,
duration of continuous operation and the
materials used.
MENZER GmbH cannot be held responsible for
the use of these stated values instead of actual
emission values in any individually required risk
assessment.

The MENZER drywall sander LHS 225 /
LHS 225 VARIO is intended for the
dry sanding
of walls and ceilings
, the sanding of primed
drywalling and the removal of paint coats,
adhesive and/or wall paper residue.
This machine must be used with MENZER
abrasives only. The use of cutting or grinding
discs, as well as abrasive flap wheels, wire brushes
or saw blades is prohibited.
We recommend using our MENZER dust extraction
units for dust removal
