Maintenance and care
In order to charge the PD Scan, connect the device to the mains power. Always use the
charger provided, which must be connected to the device using the USB cable with the
USB interface
provided.
The device is also charged when it is connected to a PC, a commercially available USB
charger or a vehicle USB charging adapter by USB cable. The charging time may be
prolonged according to the power output.
A full charge cycle takes a maximum of 3 hours. During charging, the charging indicator
light
lights up in red. The battery is fully recharged once the charging indicator light
goes out.
NOTE
To avoid damage, please observe the following when charging:
•
Give preference to use of the charger supplied.
•
The ambient temperature should lie between 10 °C and 35 °C.
•
In the event of problems with the battery, contact your sales or service
partner at Megger. Do not open the device yourself.
If the device is not used for an extended period, it should be stored in a dust-free and
dry environment.
In the event of an extended period of non-use, the battery should be recharged around
once a year.
Repair and maintenance work may only be performed by Megger or authorised service
partners and only using genuine replacement parts. Megger also offers its customers
on-site service. Please contact your service centre as needed.
To ensure that a high measuring accuracy can be maintained for a long period of time,
the device should be regularly (a two-year cycle is recommended) examined at
manufacturer’s facility or an authorized service and calibration center, and be fine-tuned
if necessary.
Do not clean the display with aggressive products such as solvents or spirits.
Instead, handwarm water containing some washing-up liquid and a microfibre cloth
should be used to clean the display.
