8.7. Radiator thermostat
8.7.1. Dismantling the old radiator thermostat
If the heating thermostat is dismantled, the valve on the radiator will
open. The radiator and its connections can heat up intensively under
certain circumstances.

If necessary, shut down the heating system
while mounting the adapter or disable the radi-
ator at the lockshield valve.

Turn the thermostatic head in an anticlockwise
direction to the maximum value

The thermostatic head is thus no longer pressing
on the valve spindle and can be dismantled more
easily.
The fitting on the thermostatic head can have dif-
ferent designs: union nut, snap-on fastening, com-
pression fitting or screw connection with a grub
screw. Loosen the existing fitting
B and then remove the thermostatic head C .
8.7.2. Mounting
The radiator thermostat can be mounted without
the need to bleed the heating water or adjust the
heating system. Special tools are not necessary, nor
is it necessary to shut down the heating system.
The universal union nut on the radiator thermostat
is suitable for all valves with a M30 x 1.5 mm thread
from the most common manufacturers without the
need for accessories.
In the case of valves from some manufacturers, the
protruding part of the valve that is inserted into the
device has a smaller diameter and this will result in a looser fit.

In these cases, the supplied supporting ring A (Fig. 2) should be inserted into the
flange of the device before mounting it.
