3.5.1. Installing the smoke detector
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock!
There is a risk of electric shock when drilling into a wall.

When drilling, ensure that no concealed electrical wires or wa-
ter pipes are damaged.
ATTENTION!
Risk of false alarms.
Unfavourable environmental conditions can trigger a
false alarm.

Therefore, do not mount the smoke detector:
−
in rooms with large amounts of water vapour, humidity,
dust or smoke (e.g. kitchens, laundry rooms, bathrooms).
−
near to hearths or open fireplaces.
−
next to ventilation shafts because the air flow could divert
smoke form the smoke detector.
−
near to electrical interference (e.g. electricity meters, metal
cupboards, metal walls).
−
near to fluorescent lamps and energy-saving bulbs because
the starters used to switch on the lights could trigger a false
alarm (distance to the device: min. 50 cm).
3.6. Wall mounting of the IP camera

Select a suitable location for installing the device
and take care not to damage any hidden electrical or
installation cables when drilling the holes.
