Setting Up and Installing the Module
37
Note:
If you are using a USB 3.0 hub to connect to the DT9857E moudle, be aware of the
back power.
The DT9857E receive power from the USB 3.0 hub when the external power supply is off and
the USB 3.0 cable is plugged into the computer. The back power is only 4.6 V but it prevents
the module from getting a proper USB reset. (The DT9857E operates from 4.75 V to 28 V and
the sense circuit is set at 4.6 V because of tolerances.)
To solve this problem, you must use a 2 A diode in series with the USB 3.0 hub power supply.
This will also ensure that a reverse power supply will not cause any damage.
Once you have applied external power to the DT9857 or DT9857E module and connected your
module to the host computer, the Power LED on the module turns solid green. In addition,
once the module is enumerated, the USB LED on the module turns solid green.
