Setup Wizard

The PBXgateway II provides a console setup wizard which guides a user through most of the required
programming/configuration to complete initial setup of the unit. Parameters not configurable through the
wizard can be set through the Management Interface.

The setup wizard will be accessed through the console management interface, requiring a PC to connect
to the unit (PBXgateway II) via the DB-9 console port. The wizard will quiz the user on the basics of their
particular configuration, and use this information to establish the initial configuration programming.

Portion of the variables configured through Setup Wizard:

•

WAN cable type (RVP only)

•

Connection speed (RVP only)

•

IP Configuration

Standard Console UI vs the Setup Wizard

When a unit is first powered up it will check a Setup Wizard flag. If the flag is set then the standard
console UI will be displayed. If the flag is not set then the user will be asked whether they would like to
run the Setup Wizard. After this initial prompt the Setup Wizard flag will be set, preventing the user from
being asked to run the Wizard again. The Setup Wizard can also be accessed through the console
Management Interface in case the user wants to run it later.

How to access the Setup Wizard through the MI
