adjustment.

NOTE:

Troubleshooting problems may have similar causes and solutions.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE

CAUSE

SOLUTION

Power cord not plugged in

Plug cord into grounded outlet

Pressure Switch in “OFF” position

Turn switch to “ON” or “AUTO” position.

Wrong gauge wire or length of
extension cord

Check chart on page 2 for proper gauge wire and cord
length

Motor thermal overload switch
tripped

Turn air compressor off, wait until motor is cool, then
check motor circuit breaker

Fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped

-Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker
-Check for proper fuse amperage
-Check for low voltage conditions
-Disconnect any other electrical appliances from circuit
or operate air compressor on its branch circuit

Air tank pressure exceeds preset
pressure switch limit

Motor will start automatically when tank pressure drops
below cut-in pressure of pressure tank.

Check valve stuck open

Remove and clean or replace

Loose electrical connections

Contact authorized service centre or store.

Compressor
motor will
not
run or start

Possible defective motor, capacitor
or check valve

Contact authorized service centre or store.

Low Voltage

Check power source (outlet or generator) with
volt-meter.

Unit is plugged into an extension
cord.

Remove extension cord.    Tip:    It is better to use a
longer hose instead of an extension cord.

Shorted, or open motor winding.

Contact authorized service centre or store.    Motor
replacement may be required.

Motor
hums but
can not
run, or
runs
slowly.

Defective check-valve.

Contact authorized service centre or store.    Parts may
require replacement.

Incorrectly sized fuse or circuit –
circuit overloaded

Check for proper fuse or breaker, use time-delay fuse
of the proper size.    Disconnect other electrical
appliances from circuit or operate compressor on a
dedicated circuit

Circuit Overloaded.

Disconnect any other electrical appliances from circuit
or operate compressor on a dedicated circuit

Unit is plugged into an extension
cord.

Remove extension cord.    Tip:    It is better to use a
longer hose instead of an extension cord.
