Result of Test

u

   At the end of the test the HPAT600 will display the 

value of the simulated load test current and the 
calculated power. These values are referenced to a 
simulated mains supply voltage of 230V and a unity 
power factor.

u

   If the HPAT600 displays the 

‘Simulated load current 

Hi’

 message, refer to 3.13. (Simulated Load Current 

Hi)

u

   Test data can now be saved (

SAVE

) to memory if 

required. Refer to 2.14. (Saving Test Data to Memory)

3.7 Class I Earth Continuity Test

Always refer to and perform 3.2 before proceeding

This is a single test to measure resistance between earth 
and exposed metalwork.

Test Connections

u

   Refer to the Class I Earth Continuity connection 

diagram below.

u

   Plug the appliance mains plug into the HPAT600 front 

panel mains socket (1).

u

   Connect the test probe to the HPAT600 4mm test 

probe socket (2) and connect the other end to any 
exposed metal work on the appliance. 

u

   If the appliance being tested has more than one 

instance of exposed metalwork, it is advisable to 
connect the test probe to each in turn and perform an 
earth continuity measurement.
