CAUTION!
NEVER touch the spark plug or spark plug cap while the
engine is running (high voltage)!
Never do maintenance work with the engine running!
A hot engine can cause severe burns. Wear protective
gloves!
The spark plug must be replaced if the insulator is damaged
or if the electrodes are severely eroded or dirty or oily.
- Pull the spark plug cap (
F/15
) off the plug. Use only the
combination wrench supplied with the brushcutter to
remove the spark plug.
Note:
Replace only with
CHAMPION RCJ-6Y, BOSCH WSR
6F
or
NGK BPMR 7A
spark plugs!
Electrode gap
The electrode gap must be 0.5 - 0.8 mm.

Cleaning the air
Þ
lter
- Loosen the screw (
E/11
) and fold down the
Þ
lter cover
(
E/12
). Close the choke lever (
E/13
) to prevent the entry
of dust particles into the carburetor.
- Remove the air
Þ
lter (
E/14
) and clean it with a soft brush.
CAUTION!
To prevent eye injuries, do not blow out dirt particles!
- Very
dirty
Þ
lters can be cleaned out using regular dishwashing
liquid in lukewarm water.
-
In case of strong pollution clean more often (several times a
day) because only a clean
Þ
lter ensures full engine power.
- Before reinstalling the air
Þ
lter check the choke valve for
dirt particles, and if necessary clean it out with a brush.
-
Carefully dry
the air
Þ
lter and reinstall it.
Important:
If the air
Þ
lter is damaged replace it immediately! Torn-off
fabric pieces and large dirt particles can destroy the
engine!
