Schematische Darstellung
- Unscrew the locknut ( E/1 ) from the shaft by turning it clock-
wise. Remove the pressure disc ( D/2 ). Keep the locknut and
the pressure disc in the same place as the maintenance
tools.
- The winding guard must be mounted if necessary (see
Þ gure B).
- Screw the trimmer head ( E/9 ) onto the shaft by turning it
counter-clockwise.
- Insert the offset screwdriver into the hole on the winding
guard (see too Þ gure C) and rotate the trimmer head counter-
clockwise until the offset screwdriver blocks the shaft.
- Now tighten the trimmer head by hand.
- Remove the offset screwdriver and check to make sure
that the trimmer head can turn freely.
Installing the line cutter
The line cutter and its mounting screw are included in the ac-
cessory pack.
- The picture shows the line cutter ( F/10 ) mounted on the
cutter guard with the mounting screw.
Note:
If you adjust the length of the trimmer line (see „Lengthening the
line“), the line cutter will automatically cut the lines to identical
length during operation.
Caution:
Always turn off the engine before adjusting the line
length!
Lengthening the line

- Hold the housing ( G/11 ) Þ rmly and pull the housing cover
( G/12 ) out against the spring pressure in the direction of
the arrow ( Þ gure) until it is possible to turn the cover ( G/12 )
counter-clockwise.
- Stop pulling out on the cover and turn it counter-clockwise
until it snaps back in.
- Pull the line ends ( G/13 ) out as far as they will go. Repeat
this procedure until you have about 15 cm (6") of line avail-
able.
A detailed description of this adjustment is included with the
trimmer head.
Installing the trimmer head
Always switch off the engine and
disconnect the spark plug cap before
mounting the trimmer head!
When using the trimmer head install the cutter guard with the
mounting plate in position A (see “Installing the cutter guard”).
Always install the line cutter (see below, “Installing the line
cutter”)!
