To create a library item:

Select a portion of a document to save as a library item.

Do one of the following:
•
Choose Window > Library and drag the selection into the Library category of
the Assets panel.
•
Click the New Library Item button at the bottom of the Assets panel (in the
Library category).
•
Choose Modify > Library > Add Object to Library.

Enter a name for the new library item.
Each library item is saved as a separate file (with the file extension .lbi) in the
Library folder of the site’s local root folder.
Setting library preferences
You can customize the highlight color for library items and show or hide
highlighting of library items by setting Highlighting preferences.
To change the highlight color for library items:

Choose Edit > Preferences and select the Highlighting category.

Click the Library Items color box and select a highlight color using the color
picker (or enter the hexadecimal value for the highlight color in the text box). For
information about using the color picker, see “Working with colors” on page 87.

Select Show to toggle the display of the library highlight color.

Click the Show control to enable or disable the display of library-item
highlighting in the Document window.

Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box.
To view highlight colors in the Document window:
Choose View > Visual Aids > Invisible Elements.
Highlight colors appear in the document window only when View > Visual Aids >
Invisible Elements is enabled and the appropriate options are enabled in
Highlighting preferences.
