Cutting attachments
Replace worn or damaged cutting attachments.
WARNING! Never use other blades including metal multi-piece
pivoting chains and flail blades. Otherwise serious injury may result.
WARNING! Wear safety gloves when working on either cutting
attachment. Use appropriate tools to remove debris e.g. a brush or
wooden stick! Never use your bare hands!
1. Keep the cutting attachments and the safety guard clean and free of debris.
Remove grass trimmings.
2. Keep the cutter blade (21) sharp to retain a good cutting performance.
Guard
1. Keep the guard (17) clean and free of debris. Remove trimmings.
2. Replace the guard (17) with one of the same type when it is worn or shows
damage.
Trimming line
Replace the trimming spool
Replace the line spool when it is empty or worn.
1. Turn the product upside down to access the trimmer head (18).
2. Rotate the trimmer head (18) until the hole on the backing flange (21d) is
aligned with the notch in the gear head.
3. Insert the spindle lock rod (24) into the hole to lock the spindle (21e) (Fig. 28,
step 1).
4. Loosen the trimmer head (18) clockwise (Fig. 28, step 2) by hand and remove
it from the spindle (21e).
5. Press the release latches (18e) on both sides and hold them in position (Fig.
29, step 1), then rotate the cover (18a) counter-clockwise to disengage it from
the trimmer head (18) (Fig. 29, step 2).
