… Looking towards the back of the fixture (Screen Side).
This mode enables “absolute” positioning of the PAN and TILT axis.
When positioning the PAN axis ( DMX[n+2] ), a value of DMX=1% will move the
PAN axis to 30 Degrees WEST (looking from the rear), DMX=100% will move the
PAN axis to 300 Degrees (EAST).
DMX= 50% will position the VULTURE at 180 Degrees (NORTH – facing away).
TILT (DMX[n+3]) works in a similar way, moving from DMX Value =1% (-30
DEGREES) to DMX=100% (170 DEGREES – down).
DMX Value =20% is 0 Degrees (Vertical).
The VULTURE will follow changing channel values using a PID controller.
Changing direction is protected by a slow-down-stop-reverse procedure to reduce
whiplash when changing direction.
The speed settings (DMX PAN[n+0], TILT[n+1])
DMX values of Zero will disable the drive on the appropriate channel, this
includes the speed control channels –
In the unlikely event that the VULTURE jitters trying to maintain an accurate
position during adverse conditions, such as strong winds, the unit can be forced
into a stationary position by reducing the speed to zero – doing so locks the drive
in the current position.
