PARKING
If the Home Key is briefly pressed, an advisory message will appear.
To Park the unit in the stow position, hold the HOME key down for several
seconds – release the key when the display changes to “PARKING”. (2 Beeps).
NOTE:
Remove the extension brackets and accessories from the unit before attempting
parking. Ensure the operational area is free of obstacles.
The unit may be parked using battery power if there is no AC supply available.
Procedure:
Remove DMX data / Hand Controller from the unit – the unit will not park if data
is being received. (A message will flash requesting the removal of the DMX /
Hand Control.)
Once data input is absent, the unit will show “ready to park”.
Press PARK, or CANCEL to exit.
The VULTURE will display a 5 second countdown and a warning that the unit will
begin to move automatically to the stowed position.
In the event of a collision, press the ESTOP and then Cancel. Reset the ESTOP.
Move the obstacle, insert the hand control and set the unit to Wired Hand Control
Mode. Using the Hand Control, move the unit to an uncompromised position.
PAN MOTION DAMPER (Brake)
The VULTURE is equipped with a magnetic damper on the pan axis to help
prevent gear lash from allowing unintentional movement of the pan axis.
The damper makes an audible “click” when it engages, which may be problematic
during timed cues when spurious sounds are not permitted. To solve this
problem, DMX channel 5 in encoder mode allows a time delay to be set before the
damper engages after motion. By setting a suitable delay (delay = (DMX value) x
50 milliseconds). This allows for a maximum delay of about 12 seconds. Using
DMX Zero will enable the damper to work with the PID controller to arrest
rotational movement as required by the system.
If a twelve second delay is insufficient, the pan speed could be set to a lower value
and the more timed cues sent, the 12 second interval would reset every cue
update.
