Longines’ quartz chronographs fitted with calibre L538
or L541 show the hours, minutes, seconds and the date.
As far as concerns the chronograph functions, these
models can be used to time events that last up to 30
minutes (cal. L538) or 12 hours (cal. L541), and show
the results to a 1/10th of a second.
3-position crown
Adjusting the time and stop seconds
In order to synchronise your watch with a time signal (ra-
dio, telephone, etc.), pull the crown right out to position
3
,
when the small seconds is on the 60, then push the
crown back in again to position
1
on the time signal. The
date will change every time the hour hand passes mid-
night.
Changing the time zone and the date
Pull the crown out to the intermediate position

. The hour
hand can be moved in either direction without affecting
the minute and seconds hands. Turn the crown until the
desired date appears. The date changes at midnight.
Push the crown back in to position

IMPORTANT! Do not leave the crown in the intermedi-
ate position 2 for longer than 20 minutes as this may
affect the time function.
