Gocator 2000 Family
Feature Points
Many profile measurements involve estimating the locations of feature points and then making
comparisons between the feature points. The following types of points can be identified.

Top
Finds the point with the maximum Z-value within the region
of interest.
Top
Bottom
Finds the point with the minimum Z-value within the region of
interest.
Bottom
Left
Finds the point with the minimum X-value within the region of
interest.
Left
Right
Finds the point with the maximum X-value within the region
of interest.
Right
Average
Determines the average location of points within the region
of interest.
Average
Corner
Finds a dominant corner within the region interest, where
corner
is defined as a change in profile slope.

Top Corner
Finds the top corner within the region interest, where corner
is defined as a change in profile shape.
