4.  Make sure that the device does not come

into contact with water or other liquids,

as this may cause a short circuit or power

surge.

5.  Never leave the grill unattended while

switched on.

6.  Allow the unit to cool fully before putting

it away or cleaning it.

7.  Never use the Livington Low Fat Grill if

the cable or the device itself is broken.

8.  Never leave the power cord hanging

over an edge, and protect it from hot and

sharp objects. Make sure that the cable is

not tangled.

9.  Use of the Livington Low Fat Grill on non-

solid surfaces and exposure to moisture

or heat may cause deformation, damage

or defects.

10.  Use the device only as intended!

11.  Heavy impacts or falls can damage the

Livington Low Fat Grill!

12.  Never use utensils made of metal!

13.  Disconnect the device before cleaning

and make sure the plug is dry before

reconnecting.

14.  This appliance may be used by children

from 8 years of age, or by persons with

reduced physical, sensory or mental

capabilities or lack of experience and/

or knowledge, only if they have been

supervised or instructed in the safe use

of the appliance and have understood the

hazards arising therefrom. Children should

not play with the appliance. Cleaning and

user maintenance must not be performed

by children unless they are over 8 years

old and supervised. Children younger

than 8 years are to be kept away from the

machine and the connecting cable.

15.  Operation of the device using external

time switches or separate remote control

systems is forbidden!

16.  Do not use outdoors.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Unpack the unit and remove all packaging materials. Before using for the first time, wipe

the outside of the device with a clean, damp cloth to remove any dust that has accumulated

during shipping, and then dry thoroughly. Wipe the grilling surface and drip tray.

CAUTION: Use caution when cooking. The appliance must always be positioned

horizontally during use. Hot oil, grease or juices can splash during grilling. Do not

touch hot surfaces. Do not attempt to cut food on the grilling surface during the

cooking process.

NOTE: Before grilling food for the first time, operate the appliance while empty in

order to burn off residue on the grilling surface. You may notice slight odour and/

or smoke coming off the grilling surface (first use only). This is normal and will go

away in a few minutes.

APPLICATION

1.

Make sure the appliance is clean and dry. Place the appliance on a levelled heat-

resistant surface, away from hot objects and open flames. Position the drip tray under

the unit at the edge of grill plate.

2.

With the unit in closed position, plug the appliance into a power outlet. The red light

will turn on, indicating that the device is receiving power and heating up.

3.

While the device is heating up, prepare your food.

4.

Once the unit is pre-heated and ready to use (after about 3-4 minutes) the green light

will turn on. You can now place the food on the grilling surface.

5.

Open the unit using the handle only. Place the desired food onto the bottom grilling

surface. If layering foods, make sure this is not too thick. Close the unit. Caution: If there

is too much food placed on the grilling surface, it will not be possible to close the unit. If

this is the case, remove some of the food. Never use force to close the appliance.

6.

Keep your hands away from the unit, as steam may escape from between the closure.

During cooking, the light will alternate between ON and OFF while the thermostat

keeps the unit at the right temperature.

7.

After approx. 3-5 minutes, open the unit using the handle to check the food. If the

food is ready, remove it using a flat wooden or plastic spatula. If the food requires

additional cooking, close the unit and continue to grill for an additional 1 minute. Use

1 minute increments when adding cooking time for best results.

8.

Close the unit to preserve the heat until you are ready for more food. Wait for both lights

to come on again to add more food. Repeat the cooking process as described above.

9.

Make sure to empty the drip tray before preparing more food. Exercise caution when

emptying the drip tray, as the contents may be hot.

10.   Once you have finished using the unit, always make sure to unplug it immediately.

Allow sufficient time for the unit to cool. Refer to cleaning instructions.

SUGGESTED COOKING TIMES:
