The Prototype
Forney locomotives were popular
in North America during the late
19th century. The truck under the
cab and fuel bunker made these
locos run smoothly, and for short
lines, the Forney's ability to run in
reverse as well as forward simpli-
fied operations and eliminated the
need for turntables. A few Forneys
are still in use, including the proto-
type for this model, which carries
tourists at a theme park.
