DIGITAL KEY TELEPHONE SYSTEM

3.4.2.1 MEMU Installation

The MPB may be equipped with MEMU for memory expansion. Before installing the MPB, install MEMU as

required, refer to Figure 3.4.2. The MEMU has a lithium dry-cell and SW1 must be set to ON position to

protect the database in the memory, before installing it into the MPB.

Note:

If MEMU is newly installed during operation, then the SMDR recorded in the basic memory of MPB

before MEMU installation will be lost.

If MEMU is replaced with SMEMU during operation, the database will be lost. So it is recommended

that the database is downloaded to PC before replacement, and unloaded after replacement.

The MEMU should be installed on MPB through the dual line connectors, CONN7 and CONN8 of MPB, so

recommend visual inspection of the connecting state between MPB and MEMU after installing it on MPB.

3.4.2.2 SMEMU Installation

The MPB may be equipped with SMEMU for memory expansion and the QSIG, CTI, PC-ATTN features.

Before installing the MPB, install SMEMU if required, refer to Figure 3.4.2. The SMEMU has a lithium dry-cell

and SW1 must be set to ON position to protect the database in the memory, before installing it into the MPB.

The SMEMU should be installed on the position of MEMU on MPB.

Note:

If SMEMU is newly installed during operation, then the SMDR recorded in the basic memory of MPB

before SMEMU installation will be lost.

If MEMU is replaced with SMEMU during operation, some database will be lost. So it is

recommended that the database is downloaded to PC before replacement and unloaded after

replacement.

If you want to use the QSIG, CTI, PC-ATTN features, the software package 99A version should be

required. .(See the SMEMU in section 2)

The SMEMU should be installed on MPB through dual line connectors, so recommend visual inspection of

the connecting state between MPB and SMEMU after installing it on MPB.

3.4.2.3 PLLU Installation

The PLLU board should be installed on the MPB to use the ISDN/Digital Trunk interface boards such as

BRIB, PRIB, STIB and/or E1IB. If PLLU is not installed, the pin #12 and #13 of the connector CONN5 on the

MPB should be short with a short pin for proper operation.

There are 3 kinds of PLL units, PLLU, PLLU III and PLLU2 (issue 3) for GDK-100 system.

PLLU2 (Issue 3) has been only supplied since the end of November, 1998.
