MAINTENANCE
■ To reinstall the trimmer head cover, first align the mounting holes on the trimmer head cover
with the locking tabs (
8
) on the trimmer head housing as shown. Then press the locking tabs
and push the trimmer head cover onto the trimmer head housing. Make sure they are secured
tightly (Fig. 44).
Line Replacement
(See Figs. 45-47)
■ You may wind new cutting lines onto an empty spool.
■ Remove the empty spool from the grass trimmer referring to the Spool Replacement section.
■ Remove any remaining cutting line from the spool.
■ Re-install the empty spool to the trimmer head referring to the Spool Replacement section.
■ Press and rotate the spool head clockwise to align the arrow on spool head and the line on the
trimmer head cover as shown (Fig. 45).
NOTE:
Use only round monofilament line with the recommended diameter (see Technical Data).
■ Ensure that the new cutting line is sufficiently long, approximately 6 m for 2 mm line and 5m for
2.4 mm line. First insert one end of the line into the eyelet on the trimmer head housing and the
spool in the trimmer head. Fully insert the line until you feel it stop and cannot be inserted any
further. Then insert the other end of the line into the other eyelet on the trimmer head housing
and the spool in the trimmer head. Ensure the line is fully inserted until it stops (Fig. 46).
■ Press and rotate the spool head clockwise to wind the line in the spool (Fig. 47).
■ Cut off the line in the middle leaving some of the line out.
NOTE:
Always clean the trimmer head cover and trimmer head housing before reassembling the
trimmer head.
NOTE:
Always clean the trimmer head before replacing the spool.
■ Check the trimmer head cover, spool and trimmer head housing for wear and replace parts if
necessary.
NOTE:
Only use the appropriate cutting line specified in this manual.
Trimmer Head Replacement
(See Fig. 48)
■ Stop the engine and remove the battery pack.
■ Place the brush cutter on a flat stable surface with the trimmer head facing upward.
■ Insert the provided hex wrench into the hole on the flange to lock the spindle. Then rotate the
trimmer head clockwise to remove (Fig. 48).
■ To install a new trimmer head, refer to the Installing the Trimmer Head section on page 24.
Brush Cutter Blade Replacement
(See Fig. 49)
Always check the blade for signs of wear before installing new blades.
■ Stop the engine and remove the battery pack.
■ Place the cutter on a flat stable surface with the blade facing upward.
■ Insert the provided hex wrench into the hole on the flange to lock the spindle. Then rotate the
nut clockwise to remove (Fig. 49).
